Borrow a book!
Reading allows us to be transported from our own world to another between the pages of a book. Here at BestStart Lynmore we have set up a book sharing station to allow children to choose a favourite book to share at home. Fostering communication skills in young children is essential for their holistic development. Book-reading experiences have been shown to be valuable for supporting children communication love of books, and fun activities for families to share with their child.
We've had some great feedback from our families:
Hi Kaiako, Esamae and Avana both have loved the borrow a book station. We have read 3 stories at home, with The Wheels on the Bus being the favourite.
We love new ideas, and activities that involve our home life. I enjoy it because it's getting my big girl be school ready.
