Fitness Friday - Dinosaur Dance
During lock-down, our kaiako from BestStart Cornwall Street engaged in remote learning opportunities to continue to support and connect with tamariki and whānau from home. One area that our kaiako from our Toddlers environment, Fetuao, engaged in was providing our tamariki with different videos such as Storytelling of favourite books, Dancing to favourite songs, Baking and Fitness Friday opportunities to get everyone up and moving.
One video that has become quite popular with the tamariki since being back in the centre from Level 2 is my Dinosaur Dance.
During Level 3, we had some tamariki back at the centre and during this time they decided to have a Friday P.J day. While I was remotely working from home, I decided to join in on the fun and link my Fitness Friday video to P.J day at the centre. And one thing I knew for sure, was that our Fetuao tamariki just LOVE Dinosaurs. I found a Dinosaur song on YouTube and pressed record.
We now have this video on USB and it gets asked for several times a day. It is great fun watching the tamariki rush to find a Dinosaur tail to wear as soon as they hear my voice "Hello everybody".
