A burst of colour!
BestStart Somerfield celebrated the Holi Festival. We sat down together at kai time and discussed what Holi was and how it was special to the Indian culture.
" Holi is a Hindu spring festival, originating from the Indian subcontinent, celebrated predominantly in India, but has also spread to other areas of Asia and parts of the Western world through the diaspora from the Indian subcontinent, also known as the
"Festival of colours" or the "Festival of love"".
Once we had finished kai we all sat outside while music played and we waited for our packets of gulal (paint). We had a wonderful time throwing it around and getting each other covered in the gulal.
