BestStart Greenmeadows celebrated Easter before enjoying a lovely long weekend with their whanau. Mana and Tiaki Room tamariki enjoyed creating their own eggs, bunnies and easter bags, whilst ending the week with an easter hunt. Tamariki took turns going out on the easter hunt, as they took turns kaiako and tamariki sung waiata and talked about how easter was celebrated at tamariki and whanau homes. The easter hunt empowered tuakana teina relationships where tamariki worked alongside other tamariki to find the laminated eggs. Tamariki got eggs at the end of the day to take home with their whanau.

The Koru Room explored a range of sensors celebrating Easter with a group baking experience making hot cross buns. The tamariki took turns adding ingredients, measuring, mixing, and pouring. Tamariki smelt spices and worked together alongside their kaiako to make delicious hot cross buns which they shared and ate together for afternoon tea.

Easter brought together whanau and tamariki beliefs and values, contributing ideas around Easter, into the centre creating diverse individual ways of being, doing and knowing
