A hearty soup for Matariki
As part of our Matariki celebrations at BestStart Hokowhitu, we made a delicious vegetable soup together for everyone to share. The children have been enjoying the process of planting seeds and growing their understanding and knowledge of Rongo as guardian of those cultivated plants, harvesting and preparing, as well as of themselves being kaitiaki.
Many of our whanau contributed vegetables to go into our shared soup, and our tamariki loved every minute of preparing the vegetables under the careful watch of Georgina. It was a delicious vegetable soup, and we were very thankful to share it together with whanau on such a chilly day!
