The week 21st - 25th June our centre celebrated Matariki. Each of our rooms had our tamariki making decorations, star biscuits, learning a Matariki dance and much more.

On Thursday 24th of June, was a night we came together and celebrated Matariki, along with having parent interviews and a disco for the children to enjoy. Our whanau donated fresh vegetables to go towards the making of our 4 soups that were available that night: Spicy Kumera, Pumpkin, Leek & Potato and Broccoli Soup.
The children in our Tui room had so much fun helping their Kaiako make fresh buns and fried bread to go with the delicious soups. And our Tamariki in the Kereru room loved helping prepare the vegetables for the soups.
As everyone entered the centre we had a set up that our Whanau could help themselves to the varieties of hot soups, fresh bread, buns, fried bread, and drinks.
The parents and children could then make their way to their rooms where they could have some one on one time with their Tamariki teacher. Having a chat about the progress their Tamariki is making in their room and discussing any goals they would like to go over.
To end the night off our tamariki burnt some energy off with dancing around in our room set up for a disco.

It was an enjoyable night had by all our whaanu, tamariki, Kaiako and centre staff.
