A Tauranga Central Matariki
We have had a wonderful month of acknowledging and participating in lots of Matariki learning. All the opportunities and learning the children gained was showed through our wonderful parent evening where the children performed some songs and dance for their families and then our 4 year olds put on a play, retelling the Maori story of the beginning with an addition of how the matariki stars were made. Our 4 year olds showed amazing confidence and courage to stand in front of a large audience and their performance showed how well they knew the story, their communication skills and creativity from their costumes and props as well as how they took on each character role. We love supporting the children with projects like these and even love it more when them parents and families can see the progress.
