During the school holidays, BestStart Burnside took a week long trip around the world by celebrating some of the different cultures which attend our centre! We celebrated Pasifika Day, Russian Day, Japan Day, Brazil Day and also India Day. Our tamariki totally enjoyed the experiences as they were able to try new foods, wear different clothes and also dance to music from different countries. The kaiako were so touched by the amount of support we received from the whanau, who threw themselves whole-heartedly into helping us celebrate the different cultures. Our tamariki enjoyed making connections between the people, places and things in their world as they were able to share the richness of their cultures with the other learners at the centre.
