An Exciting Easter Excursion
BestStart Napier Central went on our Easter excursion to Marewa Park and what a blast we had.
We got ready in the centre with our bright green vests and the children had an adult to walk with. It was great to see all the parents that came with us. On the way to the park we needed to cross a busy road and the children waited patiently as the traffic went past. There was a gap in the traffic and we were away, looking both ways to make sure it was safe. During our walk to the park we crossed a few more roads and we practiced our road safety by stopping, looking for moving cars and then heading across the road when it was safe.
When we got to the park the children raced over to the playground, over the fields. The children had a play for a while and then we sat down for some morning tea, fruit and crackers were on the menu and they quickly ate me all up.
As the Easter bunny hopped in, the children gathered around to see the bunny however some children just stood back and observed. When the children's name got called out, they came up and collected their special treats and gave the bunny a high five and off they went to investigate what was in it. There were treats of chocolate eggs, some novelty toys and a party popper.
The bunny stayed for a little while with some more photos taken. The children then carried on playing until it was time to walk back.
The excitement on the children's faces showed they had a really great time.
