April Celebrations at BestStart Kelvin Street
This month our centre has been celebrating with the children's cultural day's. We have celebrated Easter, Sinhala and Tamil new years and Ramadan.
We celebrated by dressing up in a colour and trying new food from each culture, the kaiako have also provided the tamariki with activities throughout the day.
For Sinhala and Tamil New years, we painted the flags, sun, and flowers that represent their culture. For Easter we had a treasure hunt to find tokens to receive a chocolate Easter egg. We coloured in Easter bunnies and easter cards. The tamariki were able to work alongside each other in small and large groups.
They were all very excited to experience the other tamariki culture we share in our centre. They were able to share their knowledge about the celebrations in their community.
