Here at Montessori Bethlehem we like to talk to the older children about their aspirations for the future and what they would like to be when they are older. A Police officer has come up a few times in conversation, so when we learnt that one of our mummy’s here at the centre was a police officer we jumped at the opportunity to learn more about the amazing people in our community, working hard to keep us and others safe!

When the police car drove into our playground and two lady officers stepped out of the car and the children were buzzing with excitement and curiosity! We learnt about the importance of wearing a seatbelt in order to keep ourselves safe (Te noho haumara) we saw some of the tools the officers carry on them each day, we got to try on their uniform and even sit in the police car! Even the teachers couldn’t help but get in on the action too.  What an amazing and memorable day had by all.
