At home learning during lockdown

What a way to start the month, with another COVID-19 level 3 Rahui (lockdown). That has not stopped us from having fun though. We still have children within the centre who are making the most of their quieter time and engaging in mixed age group play.

Our teachers have also been working hard together on our Beststart@home programme to make sure we have plenty of fun experiences for those children who are staying at home. These may include dancing, art and crafts or scavenger hunts. These are created to help parents who may need activity ideas during this time while at home and is created with all ages and stages considered. All our teachers bring different ideas to our BestStart@home programme, allowing us to offer a range of learning experiences and keep connected during this time.

We acknowledge that these can be hard times for families, so we just want everyone to feel a sense of belonging, and to continue to support the children in any ways that we can to ensure the fun and learning continues no matter what Covid alert level we are in!
