This month our Nursery tamariki have been practicing their independence skills as they help during clean up, kai and care times. We have used demonstrating and encouragement to support children's interest in becoming independent as they help clean up after kai, wash their faces and hands, and get themselves dressed or undressed around moe (sleep) time.

These wonderful independence skills promote children's mana and empowerment as they feel a sense of contribution and accomplishment. :)
