BestStart Balclutha ran a fun programme over the July School holidays. Because many of our tamariki are away it is a time to relax and do some fun activities to ensure we are all having a wee holiday.

We had a PJ party-with movie, a dance party to celebrate mid-winter, science days, cheese making, special person day, a day to bring your favourite book and or toy, music from different countries and a baking day.

All of these days are optional, dressing up is not compulsory and not everyone likes to dance but there was something for all and our tamariki enjoyed the relaxed fun times.

This program is a fun time for kaiako to. We get to enjoy some fun and games with our tamariki and their whānau and come to work in our PJs! There are not many workplaces that encourage this.
