BestStart Onehunga's School Transition Programme
To support nga tamariki transitions to school, we have commenced a school transition programme with the local primary school, Te Papapa Primary.
Each Friday the eight oldest children in the group go for an excursion to the school where they spend time exploring the school grounds and utilizing the library. The children have enjoyed listening to stories from the school librarian, snacks with the older children and this term they will be bringing their own lunches boxes and stopping for a picnic lunch on their way back to BestStart Onehunga. This also supports strengthening our community connection programme.
