For the past two weeks we had great whanau involvement as they shared their beliefs, knowledge and taonga with us.

We started of with preparing our centre as our children helped clean our garden and prepare the vegetables for a yummy kitchen hangi made by Aunty Ruth. They also enjoyed the process of making and  baking Rewena bread.

Our tamariki also learnt about the stars through a variety of creative activities. They also made pois, weaved with flax and paper as well as making kites as we read many different stories about Matariki. We were also invited to join BestStart Manukau in their Matariki celebration.

Definitely a celebration that brings whanau together.
