Body painting with our babies

Here at BestStart Stratford we provide our under two children with opportunities to freely explore different learning experiences for themselves, without input from our bigger children. This allows them to develop their own working theories about the world around them without being influenced by the preconceived ideas and expectations of others.

Recently our under two children used their senses to explore the cold, wet and runny paint. Through this experience they were developing early science concepts, exploring the properties of the paint, learning ideas such as pouring and dripping, hot and cold, wet and dry, as well as colours. Body painting also allows our younger children to use their whole body in a fun way while gaining confidence in and control over their body.
