Bugs and insects galore!
BestStart Pharazyn Whakapuawai (Toddlers) and Waka Huia (infants) have been learning about different types of bugs and insects through a variety of experiences, opportunities and possibilities.
We went on a few trips around our local community hunting for some bugs, creating our own beehive, learning about life cycle of Monarch butterfly, observing a huge Emperor Gum moth caterpillar (yet to hatch). We went on an excursion to Percy's Scenic Reserve to hunt for some bugs and insects and visited the amazing weta cave. So many fun and meaningful learning activities!
To end the project and this amazing learning journey, we took a trip to the museum to explore the newly opened Te Taiao Nature display to enrich children's knowledge and experiences. It was indeed a great day being out and exploring our local community.
