The children at BestStart Parkside are fascinated with the vibrancy that Indian culture brings. As part of the celebration kaiako Swazi brought in a Saree and cut it into drapes for the children to wear. Boys really loved the spiderweb henna designs. The centre entrance way and room were decorated with diyas and lovely Indian material. We believe in providing learning opportunities where involving children to take the lead is very important. This empowers the children and feeds their curious minds. No celebration is complete without dance, music and food. Children got enthusiastically involved in dancing to the Indian beats. Kaiako Swazi prepared fresh and from scratch some delicious Indian savouries for the parents to takeaway for their morning tea and shared with the children and teachers. At BestStart Parkside the teachers are very passionate and go an extra mile for what they do for the children and families at the centre.
