Celebrating Diwali at BestStart Wattle Downs
We love celebrating different cultures at our centre and one of our favourites is Diwali. Our tamariki get to learn about the Indian culture, make and eat lots of different foods and dress up in clothes that they might not have elsewhere.
It was a really great week, with our Indian teachers passing on to our children knowledge about their very colourful culture. We learnt about diya, shared stories, had our hands painted with Henna. Made Roti and got to taste some delicious curries. But what we loved the most was dancing and listening to the amazing music that celebrates the Indian culture. It was a fantastic week had by all and we can't wait until next year.
