At BestStart Weymouth, teachers celebrated Diwali with the whanau and children.  Diwali is the Hindu Festival of Lights which symbolises the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. It is celebrated to honour the return of Lord Rama from excite after 14 years after winning the battle against the demon king Ravana. People celebrate and light diya’s(clay lamps), decorate homes, share food and sweets and also worship goddess of wealth (Latchmi)  for wealth and prosperity.

It was a privilege for the children, parents, teachers and whanau of BestStart Weymouth to get together and celebrate this auspicious Festival at the centre . The centre was decorated and everyone enjoyed the amazing songs and dance performances by the children and teachers. Not forgetting the sweets being made by children with teachers and shared with parents.

Thanks to everyone for making DIwali 2018 a success.
