We celebrated Easter at Beststart Newmarket with a variety of interesting activities.

We read a big book to understand and explore the religious aspects of Easter.

Some of our friends were curious to know the significance of Easter bunnies and how they are related to new beginnings. They also wanted to be bunnies munching carrots away. Teachers helped to paint their face as cute little bunnies and they went on an Easter egg hunt outside. It was great fun to find out the hidden eggs and the look on their faces when they found one was priceless. Our Atawhai children also enjoyed the egg hunt for the first time.

Children also did a lot of art and craft related to Easter and decorated the room with their artwork.  The activities and celebrations supported them in their holistic development and emotional well being. It also helped them to learn about different cultural celebrations.

Celebrations are a fun and important way for children, families and educators to actively learn about each other, to share and to honour the rich diversity of the families within our services and to celebrate our similarities.
