Today we celebrated Holi, the Hindu festival of colours. This festival marked the arrival of spring in India and also celebrates love, colour, unity and the triumph of good over evil.
The children thoroughly enjoyed this experience, it was a great chance to explore another culture through a celebration. The children learnt that ‘different’ can be lots of fun. The children explored in many ways; some were careful and controlled in their placement of powder, whilst others were excited and threw the powder and coloured water with great enthusiasm and excitement.

Through this experience the children explored spatial awareness, colour mixing, they learnt about basic science; trajectory, volume etc but most of all the children had fun.  Lots of laughter was heard by the children and of course the teachers too.
