Traditionally Matariki was celebrated by gatherings of whanau (family)celebrated with kai (food), waiata (song), takaro (game) and Haka - this is exactly what happened!

What an awesome day we had, starting with a wonderful performance of haka from the New Windsor Primary School. It was nice to see they interacted with our little ones through dance, songs and games. Our tamariki also really enjoyed celebrating Matariki this month by helping to make Maori fry bread with the guidance from some of our wonderful parents. Everyone had a go at mixing all the ingredients together and watched in amazement while the fry bread cooked in the pan.
