Our tamariki at Beststart Botany Junction had an opportunity to celebrate Matariki, the Maori new year alongside their friends and whanau. It was amazing to watch the tamariki acknowledging the Maori culture through maori art,crafts, singing waiata and listening to Maori stories. We really appreciate our Botany Junction whanau in dressing up their children on shiny and shimmering clothes on “Star” themed dress up day and also contributing a plate of healthy food for our children for the shared morning tea.  Through out the Matariki celebration the tamariki had an opportunity to gather together and respect each other.  Nga mihi.
