For a month now we have been having fun Matariki celebrations. We started with a new life by planting a lemon tree, sung lots of Maori waiata, practiced some kanikani, enjoyed some Matariki related activities, dressed up and talked about what Matariki means to us as kaiako.

On Wednesday 3rd July, we decided to have a shared kai and cultural day so that we could invite our parents and whanau to enjoy some delicious food and also have informal conversations in a relaxed environment about what's been happening at our centre over the past term.

It was a wonderful day and a beautiful way to celebrate the Maori new year, new beginnings and remembering those who have gone before us.

Thank you to all of our parents who attended and spent some time with our tamariki.  It was a really awesome day with some great conversations.
