Celebrating Mum at BestStart Tawa
We had a Mother’s Day celebration in BestStart Tawa's infants room this year and it was such a wonderful opportunity to celebrate all the fabulous things our mums do. We started with helping the children make a card with their fingerprints in the shape of a love heart on the front, and a picture and poem on the inside. All the mums loved this idea, and for many it was the first Mother’s Day card they had received!
We then invited all our mothers and grandmothers to come along to a special brunch that we hosted in our room. Our team worked together to make waffles with yoghurt and berries for everyone to enjoy, as well as making special flower brooches for the mums. We also decorated our room with lots of flowers. Later we printed out pictures from the morning and displayed them on our window for everyone to enjoy.
It was a lovely time for all the women to come together and celebrate. It was also a great opportunity to meet other mums, as we have many new babies in our room so there were lots of new faces.
