Celebrating the universal languages in our community is the vision of our centre. And we were able to live our vision through BestStart@Home.

We were able to strengthen relationships with our whanau more than ever before and they were able to connect with us anytime of the day. Kaiako and whanau shared their home lives and culture through a variety of activities, baking, cooking even sharing photos and videos.

Some examples are paper folding, traditional cultural dance, sharing stories, sharing recipes and we were even able to celebrate Sinhala and Tamil New Year in a new way.

We celebrated some of our tamariki’s birthdays and celebrated their achievements while we were all at home.

Some of our teachers were able to talk to parents individually and go through their children’s learning goals which was awesome.

Mostly we all had great fun with all the learning that we shared online. We feel very proud that we were able to keep connected with our tamariki every day.
