At BestStart Harrison Street we celebrated Holi, the Indian festival of colours. Holi is celebrated at a time of the year when the fields are in full bloom and people are expecting a good harvest.

During the week tamariki have been helping Evie make the colours Papua (purple), kowhai (yellow), karkariki (green), ma whero (pink) mixed with cornflour and aroha (love).

Tamariki and Kaiako enjoyed throwing the colours at one another with some children targeting their teachers. Sandi decided to make an angel amongst the colours on the concrete when we had finished.

The younger children from Koru got to play in the colours after the older children had returned to their rooms. What a fun time we all had!
