At BestStart Tory Street we celebrated Mᾱtariki with our tamariki and whᾱnau. We have lots of new families who joined recently, and they were all excited and surprised with what their tamariki could do.

Tamariki learnt and sang Te Reo Maori waiata, a Chinese song, a poi dance and performed a play about the “Seven sisters”. Tamariki were very excited to participate in the play and enjoyed practicing with the Kaiako.

We also made a vegetable soup with the vegetables that tamariki brought in, which they helped to peel and cut, baked Kumara bread and roasted vegies.

A big thank you to all the whanau who participated and  for the positive feedback.
