The tamariki in Te Atawhai and Te Pihinga Rooms have been enjoying creating their own artwork. We provide a range of different materials for our children to explore while they are painting.

Today the children in Te Pihinga Room enjoyed using corks in different ways to create marks on the paper. The corks were used to stamp and also like a brush to make lines and dots. The paint became mixed as colours were swapped and shared between children. It was exciting to see the tamariki working together on their artwork.

The children in Te Atawhai Room explored the paintbrushes and had a sensory experience as well as putting paint on the paper. Painting is a wonderful experience that grows creativity as well as hand eye coordination. Painting is all about the process not the product and our little artists have a great time exploring while they are creating!
