Easter in the preschool

In April we celebrated Easter in the preschool with books, songs and crafts. The tamariki enjoyed exploring books about the Easter bunny at mat times. They also enjoyed learning through art and craft activities.

The tuakana/older tamariki made small Easter baskets. This required lots of scissor skills, focus and coordination. The tamariki coloured and decorated their baskets in various ways, before taking them home.

We also learnt through Easter games. The tamariki played games such as Easter themed bingo in groups, practicing their focus and recognition skills. The Easter chick hunt was also enjoyed as tamariki supported their peers in the hunt.

All tamariki painted wooden Easter bunnies and Easter eggs to take home as a gift for their families and whānau. There were lots of great colours and patterns chosen by the tamariki which looked great.
Many children made Easter cards for family and friends.

We were thrilled to see lots of photos from our preschool whānau home of how they celebrated Easter together.

Our philosophy at Beststart Ophi centres around partnerships with whānau and relationships. Partnership with parents and whānau ensures teaching practice reflects beliefs, values, and aspirations for tamariki. Sharing and valuing home experiences is one of the many ways that we value partnership and relationships.
