End of year trip to the Auckland Zoo
Seeing our Tamariki, parents and whanau happy says a lot about how we value whanau engagement here at BestStart Papatoetoe. As part of our learning journey throughout the last half of the year our children ignited a sparking interest in animals.
From this they were provided with opportunities to inquire into, research and develop working theories about the natural world. Our Tamariki also made sense of the living world and how to care for it through using digital media and books. This then led to planning our end of year trip to the zoo.
We had a huge whanau turnout as most of our families took part in our end of year trip. After exploring the zoo, and seeing our children make those connections between what they had learnt about here at the centre to a real-life experience.
Thank you to all our whanau who made our trip to the zoo successful.
Our Tamariki also revisited their learning from their wider world experience through being creative and expressive as they shared later what they enjoyed about the zoo.
