The tamariki at BestStart Melling are enjoying the fruits of their labour as the strawberry plants, tomato and spinach plants are ready to harvest. The children take responsibility for maintaining the garden and are excited to help prepare our fruit and veges to give to our amazing centre cook so that she can prepare the food for our lunch.

The children love to have the opportunity to look after our garden and work as amazing kaitiaki (guardians) as they nurture our plants and our preschool environment and understand the importance of nourishing their bodies while wholesome, healthy food.
