We have been able to plan some excursions outside of the centre recently to our local parks. This was of great excitement for tamariki as they get to challenge their gross motor skills further on a variety of different playground equipment which we don't have at the centre, such as monkey bars, wobbly bridge, swings and more.

As tamariki walked to these playgrounds they were engaging with their road safety skills, listening and following instructions and an awareness of their local surroundings and community. Being able to get out and about on excursions is an aspect of our curriculum we aim to try and include more frequently to enhance tamariki community awareness and extend their learning and development.
