Firetruck Visit at BestStart Meadowbank
Following the children’s interests in fire trucks, we invited the local firemen to BestStart Meadowbank. The fire fighters kindly showed us how to put on their professional fire suit. They also took the children to their fire truck. Our children had a chance to recognise the tools in the truck and some of them were brave enough to hold the heavy fire axe. Sitting inside the fire truck was even more exciting. This experience extended our children’s understanding of fire fighters’ job; it also helped them to shape or re-shape their working theories of how to put out a fire.
