Fun and interactive mat times!
Here, we are again, all in our family bubble during this lockdown but that hasn’t stopped our Kaiako in the Kiwi room from engaging with our tamariki and whānau at home.
Every day, our Kaiako have been busy uploading activity ideas for children and whānau to do such as, arts and crafts, baking/cooking, music and movement, outdoor and messy play.
We have had some wonderful responses from whānau along with photos of what they have been doing at home.
Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday we have a Zoom catch up scheduled in the morning where tamariki can see their Kaiako and friends and show all the amazing things they have been doing.
We also have used this time to do little mat times where we sing a greeting song, read stories and magnetic stories. Children have enjoyed engaging in these familiar activities and are always mentioning how much they miss day-care and cannot wait to return back to the centre when it is safe.
