Fundraising with wheels day for cancer

Fundraising with wheels day for cancer

A few weeks ago, Bonnie, a preschooler, asked for a wheels day, and what better opportunity than to fundraise for the Cancer Society! Pip and Ash got to organising right away.

Each child donated via their sponsorship form, and we also had a bake sale on the day, thanks to our amazing cook Jo.

We raised a whopping $686.40. Ardie was our biggest contributor with his whānau raising $280! Shout out to Gina for counting it all.

Despite the rain, we were able to take several tamariki out to the carpark and the rest of the tamariki enjoyed more than an hour of biking laps through all the rooms and foyer.

Every child received a participation certificate and a Daffodil Day bubble wand.

The Daffodil Day Dress Up Bike-a-thon turned out to be great marketing with parents posting to their Facebook to ask for sponsors. We also had a few children book in for an extra day so that they could participate, as well as otherwhānau who brought their tamariki in especially.

What a fantastic example of living our vision and values! “At one with child, whānau and community” and Teamwork – Kotahitanga.
A huge thanks to team Kelvin Grove for another awesome event!
