Summer feels like it has arrived early at BestStart Morrinsville and we are finding creative ways to learn using water play. Lucas and Ivy used water and paintbrushes to paint the fence which soon turned into a game of 'how high can you make your mark'.  This activity strengthens the tamariki fine motor skills as they use the paint brushes to draw their designs on the fence. These fine motor skills will then be used for writing in the future. This is also strengthening their muscles and balance as the tamariki reach to the highest point on the fence they possibly can. With the children forming this activity into their own fun, they are learning what they need to at this point in time. Who knew that art and being creative was so fun and so beneficial for our young children's learning and development.
