Getting into the Christmas spirit

Getting into the Christmas spirit

It's the most wonderful time of the year at the Home of the Brave where ngā tamariki celebrate this festive season at Powell's Kindy. This month our kaiako have been getting into the Christmas spirit and have planned fun Kirihimete activities for ngā tamariki.

We had snow mania at the Home of the Brave where we built our own Olaf the snowman out of playdough and got creative with different materials to decorate our snow people, giving them a little personality. The Gingerbread Workshop was very busy as we had groups of tamariki decorate gingerbread caravans with icing and colourful candy, and listen to the story of the Gingerbread Man. Kirihimete mahi toi was another favourite activity as we let our creative juices flow by exploring different ways to express our thoughts and ideas artistically.

This month our Home of the Brave tamariki have learned to explore their imagination, creativity, use and develop their mana reo, and share their ideas of what celebrating Christmas looks like for them and their whānau.

Ngā mihi,
