On Friday 28th May, Maui Street Whanau came together to support the organisation I AM HOPE by wearing our gumboots and making donations. This organisation was started up by Mike King to help fund the private care and counselling for young people (under 25 years old) who are on waiting lists. They provide counsellors and practitioners in their region or online and take the stress away with covering the costs.

Our tamariki in the Kereru room were fascinated to watch their Kaiako paint the big gumboot and wanted to help as well. It was put on display at the front entrance for tamariki to stick their donations onto.
When the van arrived at the centre, three brothers were excited to be able to stick their donations onto the big gumboot.

Our Tamariki were glad to be able to have their photo taken to show their support with wearing their gumboots.
