To make our garden at Montessori Kilbirnie look more welcoming the tamariki started setting up the front garden by planting new herbs, little trees, berries and flowers.

This activity was a great grace and courtesy lesson as we ensured we said 'please', 'thank you' and 'do you need help?' or 'how can I help you?' We also practiced patiently waiting for a turn and looking after our Montessori environment - another great way to embrace grace and courtesy.

The children are all are very keen on gardening and taking care of our plants so that daily watering and checking on them won't be a challenge at all.
