Happy Holi from BestStart Parkside. Fun with colours. With such diverse range of cultures, religions and whanau from diverse backgrounds, as a centre we endeavour to respect and acknowledge each of these as significant to our centre family. For this reason, we enjoy, talk about and expose the children to the way other cultures celebrate significant events with the desire to support them in understanding differences and diversity in a positive way. Celebration of various Indian legends associated with Holi reassure the people of the power of the truth as the moral of all these legends is the ultimate victory of good over evil. We celebrated Holi with the powdered colours, lots of dancing and Kaiako Swazi made some delicious Indian snacks for parents, teachers and children. It was great to see all the teachers and children participating enthusiastically in this celebration.
