What an exciting week this has been here at BestStart Flat Bush. We had some chicken eggs delivered to us by Living Eggs. This gave us a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the natural world around us and to explore the life cycle of chicks. We watched in anticipation for two days as our eggs slowly started hatching and by the end of the week we had 10 beautiful chicks. Three little roosters and seven little hens. This also taught us how to care for and respect the taonga (treasure) that Papatuanuku (Mother Earth) has entrusted to us. We look forward to all the learning that will come as a result of this wonderful experience.
