Hei Hei's Vegetable Soup!
Today at preschool we invited all the families and tamariki to bring in a vegetable from the garden at home to put into our vegetable butterfly soup that the children made with the close support of the teachers.
The children got to use their plastic knives to cut the vegetables and put them into the pot and the teachers explained the steps of making soup and the children were very involved with the whole process. Even after the soup had cooked and cooled the big pot was brought into the classroom and the children got to mash the soup a little and then the butterfly pasta was added.
At afternoon Kai the soup was tasted by all the tamariki, we love our vegetable soup, and this is a yearly event at the start of winter at Best Start Hei Hei.
