Hug Your Friend Day
Today is a "Hug your Friend" Day at BestStart Pharazyn Street. In the past few weeks, we have been teaching the tamariki about using their gentle hands and caring about others, learning about the respectful approach, developing a positive relationship and reciprocal interactions with their peers. One child initiated giving a hug to his friend and others followed the gesture. It's a heart-melting moment to see the tamariki happily cuddling their friends, having the ability to express their feelings and emotions in a range of appropriate non-verbal ways to respond to the non-verbal request of others.
