Nga Tamariki and Nicky the Centre Manager had a brilliant time preparing our soil ready to start planting. Nga Tamariki carefully dug the holes for the potatoes to be buried in and then made lines in the soil so we could plant the peas and beans that Lucas' Grandad gave us. What a wonderful time we had digging, weeding, preparing the ground for our strawberry plants in the warm sunshine. We even planted sunflowers and can't wait to watch them grow tall maybe they will reach above the fence line?

This is a fantastic way to support our philosophy here at BestStart Belfast Kindy through taking care of our land (Papatuanuku) and Nga Tamariki learning about sustainability and where we source our food. We can't wait to start looking after the seedlings by watering them everyday and watching them grow into yummy food for our Kai time.
