We were very privileged to be gifted a feijoa plant from one of our tamariki who have embarked upon their Primary School journey.

Here you can see tamariki getting involved in the planting of the feijoa tree. We first tried one area then decided that a different spot would be more ideal. Tamariki carefully dug a hole in the soil deep enough for the plant, and once the plant and roots were in the ground, we carefully placed soil around it.
Throughout this process there were lots of discussions around how we can care for Papatuanuku, being Kaitiaki of the land. We are nurturing our feijoa tree by making sure it has plenty of water and sunlight to grow big and strong. We can't wait to enjoy the fruits of our labour and love.
