Learning about dog safety
The children at ABC Mayfield had a special visit from Carol and Benji who came to talk to us about dog safety and the best way to introduce yourself to a new dog. Carol showed the children pictures and did a demonstration of this process. After a fun interactive chat it was time to put the skills they had just learnt to the test. Each child had a chance to come up and practice what they had learnt.
Once everyone had a chance to say hello to Benji we presented them with the card and truffles we had made as a thank you for coming and visiting us.
Through this experience the tamariki learnt about dog safety in a fun and interactive way and they got to practice these new skills with their new puppy friend Benji. The children enjoyed reflecting on the experience with one another, sharing a laugh and talking about what they enjoyed most about their time with Benji.
