The tamariki have been learning about considering others and valuing others contributions to play. This valuable learning has come  through from the tamariki's play and  interest in imagination play,  focused around occupations that they know and see in the wider community. The tamariki are strengthening many skills in the area of social competence, especially interactions of how to positively play with others. Just take a look at some of the exciting things we have done so far. 'Fire Fighters', working together to create and build a fire engine to use as a prop in their play together and we are excited about our visit from the REAL fire fighters in the Fire truck! We also had a visit from the police to  talk with the tamariki about safety and looking after and respecting our community. Such great learning taking place, not only through positive social play that came from this, but also gaining understanding about the emergency services in our community and their roles.
